Oil driven Qatar World Cup

     Qatar is definitely not a place you would expect to host a World Cup. Very hot climate that leaves only a short window of time to play the game A very traditional society that prohibits drinking alcohol and a lot of human rights violations. It definitely doesn't seem like the best place to host the biggest sporting event in the world. Unfortunately, the decision has been made and for 2022 Qatar is going to be a host. According to Independent American Investigations as well as Fifa itself, the result has been swayed unlawfully, It has been confirmed that a significant amount of FIFA board members accepted bribes. This is definitely not the only wrong thing. It has been reported that few thousand of workers died during the construction of stadiums for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. And these things are only the tip of the iceberg 

It is known that FIFA is a corrupt organization, and the Qatar World Cup is a perfect example of that. They are ready to do a lot of things just to get some green bucks.  Fortunately, fans are not blind and some decided to boycott the current World Cup. Still, the number of attendees topped 1.2 million. We can only hope that FIFA comes to its senses and this is the last time we see this type of corruption in such a significant organization.
