Midterm madness

For those unaware there is a democratic election happening in the most influential country in the world called United States of America. Interestingly enough the midterm elections are not giving the widely expected results . As a rule of thumb, a party opposed to the current president wins by a landslide. Surprisingly this time around the forecasts are not very charitable to the Republican Party. According to some news the democrats turned in the strongest midterm showing in 3 decades (for a party holding a White House). Before the voting started the common consensus was that the red wave is going to wash over the entire country. Well, that is definitely not what happened as GOP is struggling to get to 218 seats in the House of Representatives. While the control of the second chamber is probably going to the democratic party.

It’s a huge surprise. The tough situation and the not very liked Democratic president, definitely didn’t foreshadow this type of support from the Americans. What we know for now is that The House of Representatives will be impossible to run in Republicans favor with such a microscopic advantage in votes. The Senate seats are also very evenly distributed, but we still cannot conclude the final outcome. It’s a very startling outcome for a lot of Americans. Certainly a massive success for the democrats.
